Farhan Nawaz is a Japanese–English Bilingual Project Manager and DX Consultant with over 22 years of engagement with Japan. He holds JLPT N1, PMP®, and PMI-ACP® certifications and has spent more than 14 years leading and supporting cross-border IT projects for some of Japan’s most respected organizations.

Farhan’s connection with Japan began in 2004, when he received a full MEXT (Japanese Government) scholarship to study in Japan. He studied Japanese language at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. He then earned his Bachelor’s in Computer Science & Engineering and his Master’s in Communications & Integrated Systems at the Tokyo Institute of Technology (now Institute of Science Tokyo), one of Japan’s leading engineering universities.

He began his career at Rakuten Inc. in Tokyo as a web application engineer, building backend systems and researching the internationalization of e-commerce platforms. He then joined Mitsubishi Corporation India, where he supported a major Japanese automaker’s entry into India, working on automotive R&D, market analysis, and business development.

In 2014, he joined the Nomura Research Institute group, and he spent nearly nine years there, including a secondment to NRI in Japan. As a bilingual PMO and Project Leader, he served as the key bridge between Japanese clients and overseas technology vendors on large, mission-critical financial systems.

In 2023, after completing the Digital Business Leadership Programme at IIM Calcutta, Farhan started his own practice, Kyokan Technologies, as a sole proprietor. Through it he delivered DX consulting and web development services to Japanese startups and SMEs. In 2024, he founded and incorporated Kyokan Infotech Pvt. Ltd. so that Japanese companies could work with Indian engineering talent without the usual gaps in language, culture, and expectations.
